Some pictures from March and April and May

Okay, so I'm trying to catch up on my scrapbooking, get a baby book going, and keep this going and I've gotten a little behind.  Somehow the pictures from the camera, the phones, and other people's cameras won't read right and it's really slowing me down.  So here's just a bunch of fun pictures.  They are all way out of order but at least they are up!  : )  Just go by the captions underneath.

A trip to Winter Park as a family on our way to Steamboat.  Tucker was 5 weeks old.  We took a short family walk and then Jordan took Seth skating at the outdoor rink there -- which is possibly the MOST beautiful ice rink in the world.

Tucker at the daycare where I work.  There were 5 kids there that day (the four you see plus one other baby 6 months older than Tucker) and they were all boys.  But the three older boys became fascinated by Tucker and the woman who watches them all sent me this picture.  So cute!

Beginning of May-- a nice warm day!

On the Winter Park trip I tried to get back out on skis for the first time all season.  Being only 5 weeks postpartum I wasn't too zippy but it sure was fun to give it a shot!

A birthday party right after Tucker was born.  This was the first time Seth had ever had his face painted.

This is my new (used) double stroller.  It has two seats but I put Tucker in the carrier on top of the back seat.

This is Tucker's latest favorite toy.  He can spend an hour staring at the various toys we hang from here and he always is so happy to see his toys again.  Definitely his happy place!

A beautiful smile!

Lovin' my boys!

Jordan and Seth wearing trash bags for an important craft project.  They build a little model firetruck and then painted it together after breakfast.  I came down in the morning to find them dressed like this!  : )

Four Videos

Tucker is now 4 months old!  What a blur it has been.
Just in the last week or so I've gotten a couple of really priceless videos that I wanted to share online.  There are two cute videos of Seth: one where he's mowing the lawn with Daddy and the other where you get to see him do the zip line at Sunflower Farms (where he does his "farm school" that you've heard us talk about).  There's also two videos of Seth and Tucker as they start learning to play together.  The first day that I put Tucker in his little excersaucer Seth decided to make him part of his choo choo train which I thought was adorable.  Then, today (two days later) he figured out how to make Tucker laugh by spinning the little toy on there.  SOOOOO cute!  If you can only get to one video, watch the last one-- I love watching babies laugh!

With the lawn mowing, you have to know the history of Seth and mowing the lawn.  He was born in August so there was no lawn mowing for him in his first summer.  But in the summer right before he turned one he would ride in the backpack carrier while Jordan mowed.  If Jordan tried to mow the lawn without him he would beg and cry until Jordan allowed him to come join him via packpack.  Then last summer (before he turned two) we bought him a little mower to follow daddy with.  We bought a super cheap one and he decided it was easier to drag it behind him and just follow Daddy than to push it.  Now this summer he's decided that the real thing is best.  In the video you can hear Jordan yelling "One, Two, Three, TURN!" as they go around corners.  Seth is ALL over it and loves mowing.

Our little "sprout" riding the zip line at Sunflower Farms

Seth playing with Tucker in his exersaucer.  In the first video Seth decided to set up his lego boxes as a train.  At first he wanted Tucker in one of the boxes but after Tucker got tired of that he decided to move the boxes over to Tucker's exersaucer so that he could be part of his train still.  In the second video (taken two days later), Jordan and I looked over to see Seth spinning this little toy and Tucker just giggling at it.  Tucker is turning into quite the giggler!  It's been fun to watch him laugh at all of us!

Introducing Tucker Isaac Austin

Well, if you hadn't heard by now, Tucker Isaac Austin was born on January 22!  At 7 lbs 3 oz he was almost a pound and a half lighter than his big brother was when he was born so that was a gift to me (although his head was only a half inch smaller around so... you decide on that one).

Here are some favorite pictures from the past 10 weeks.  I was going to put them in order but the uploading process mixed them up so badly that it would take forever so... oh well, you'll just have to read the captions!  : )

Finally a good family picture with all 4 of us!

 Minutes after he was born

Seth's was napping at GranDan and Nana's when Tucker was born.  This precious shot was taken when he woke up and they showed him this picture telling him that his baby brother had been born.

Our view from the hospital room-- a definite perk to having a baby in Boulder!

Two weeks old-- the first smile I caught on camera.  When Tucker was first born he didn't ever smile awake but often smiled when he was sleeping.  I often wonder what in the world he was dreaming about!

Ready to head out together!

My three boys!

Seth was enamoured with watching Tucker in his crib.

In the hospital-- so relieved and thankful for a healthy baby!

30 Week Ultrasound Pictures!

Hi all!!  I know it's been forever since I posted anything on our blog but I just couldn't wait to post these pictures.  I have more that I'll get when our scanner starts working again but I figured I'd get these out right away.
Here's our new little boy (taken on 11/16/10).  They say he's already 3.3 pounds and that his head is probably going to be huge like his brother's was.  He looks a whole lot like Seth's ultrasound pics actually.  I'll post them side by side if I get a chance.  Only 10 weeks left-- due date January 26th, 2011!  These are 3D ultrasounds so they are different than the regular ones.  The distortion or the warbles or the discoloration on the skin isn't what you'd see if you look at the baby but has to do with the way the picture is taken.  I think they are amazing though!  Both of these are face shots with the eyes closed.  He was opening and closing his mouth at us (saying "hi!") during the ultrasound but in these shots his mouth is closed.
I'm more excited than ever about baby #2 now!

In this second picture you can see his right hand up on his forhead.

Seth's 1st Day on Skis

Yesterday we were crazy Colorado parents and decided to spend a day taking Seth skiing! We'd bought some little strap on skis from a family on Craigslist and pulled him around the living room and the front yard snow a couple of times but we decided to see how he'd like skiing on a real hill. We took it slow, gave him a good morning nap and all of that, so we didn't get up to the ski hill until 11:00am. This is a tale of our fun adventures! He did SO much better than I thought he would. I wasn't sure he'd be able to keep his skis together at all but that turned out to be pretty natural for him. At first we'd hold him under the arms and he'd sort of put all of his weight on us as we went down. But then I tried skiing backwards in front of him and he got the hang of holding his own weight up. The funny thing was that he always wanted to try to walk with them so you'll see in the video how he slides one foot in front of the other as we go down the hill. The biggest bummer is that the guy manning the rope tow decided that Seth needed to have metal edges on his skis (instead of the hard plastic ones we were using). I've never heard of this rule and was pretty disgusted by it-- it meant that we had to spend the rest of the time walking up and down the hill instead of taking the free tow rope. Good grief. BUT, we made the best of it and really had a great time. It was so fun to watch him giggle and get excited. The sunglasses turned out to be great ski goggles in the snow, and his skis worked great. In case you wanted to know our inspiration for taking a toddler on skis... You'll see my cousins in the video too. They had their daughter Claire on skis before her first birthday! We did some skiing with them and some on our own. We were exhausted and my arms are pretty sore today but had so much fun with this first attempt!
